Latest update on Millie
I've missed a couple of weeks posting here, apologies. I'll just give you a quick update on Millie and her broken leg. In order to give her the best chance at living the remainder of her life pain free, I made the tough decision with the vets help to go ahead with amputation. It's been 11 days since the operation and she is healing well. All going well she should have her stitches removed in two days. There will be a bit of rehabilitation time needed to build up her strength and stamina once she is fully recovered from the...
Millies latest X Ray results
Millie had her comparitave x ray yesterday. There have been significant changes to the bone. The vet has said she has 3 options. To have surgery with a specialist which can be expensive, invasive and complicated with appropriately 12 weeks recovery time and she is likely to still suffer with pain in the joint after it. 2. To keep her on pain killers for the rest of her life and see how she manages. She will not be able to use the leg normally again and will probably be careful with it. Regular bloodwork will be needed to assess her...

An unfortunate situation happened last week when my dog Millie was playing in the garden with my other dog Stanley. She was running and injured her leg. I brought her to the vet and an X Ray revealed she had broken her hind leg. It's been bandaged up and a splint applied. We will be assessing it on a day by day basis as the vet is uncertain if the splint will work as the break is quite compressed. If this is the case...
