Monochrome Whippet sketch on black paper

This stunning monochrome study of the profile of a whippet, keen and alert while out on a walk is a unique piece of art to covet. The dogs expression is captured using just white chalk pastel on black paper. The piece is small in size but makes a big impression. This study was created by gradually removing the white pastel with an eraser in order to reveal the dark shadows (black paper) beneath and then adding the final extra highlights with a white pastel stick.
