Art and animals have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I grew up with many pets and we were always taking in the waifs and strays of the neighbourhood. Later in life I studied fine art and received my diploma from Bray Institute of Further Education. I then went on to continue my studies in Fine Art at the Institute of Art, Design and Technology in Dun Laoghaire, Co Dublin. It made total sense to me to combine my two passions, my love for animals and creativity.
I have a deep love for dogs, especially sighthounds. This is the subject of most of my work but I also create artwork featuring all kinds of animals as well as people.
I believe the soul of an animal can be seen through their eyes, and through my work I aim to portray feeling and emotion, enabling the viewer to also feel this connection.
I have been actively involved in animal rescue for many years through volunteering and fostering, and in 2010 I co-founded Whippet Rescue Ireland, of which you can learn more about here.
I live with a little rescue whippet called Millie and I try to regularly raise funds for sighthounds in rescues in the UK and Ireland.
Thank you for visiting my website, I hope you enjoy looking around.
