Art and animals have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I grew up with many pets and we were always taking in the waifs and strays of the neighbourhood. Later in life I studied Fine Art and received my diploma from Bray Institute of Further Education. I then went on to continue my studies in Fine Art at the Institute of Art, Design and Technology in Dun Laoghaire, Co Dublin. It made total sense to me to combine my two passions, my love for animals and creativity.
I have such a love of dogs, especially sighthounds. This is the subject of most of my work but I also create artwork featuring all kinds of animals as well as people.
I believe the soul of an animal can be seen and felt through their eyes, and through my work I aim to portray this feeling and emotion, enabling the viewer to also feel this connection.
I also love to create handmade sterling silver jewellery, encorporating the healing power of gemstones in many of my designs. Trained in silversmithing and attuned to healing Reiki energy by the amazing Reiki Master and author Srimanju Katragadda, I will infuse positive healing Reiki energy into my creations when requested.
I have been actively involved in animal rescue for many years through volunteering and fostering, and in 2010 I co-founded Whippet Rescue Ireland, of which you can learn more about here.
Although I'm only small (it's just me!), It's very important to me to do my bit for the environment. I make a conscious effort to package all my handmade items in recycled packaging. I also, wherever possible order my supplies from companies with similar ethical policies.
I live with a little rescue whippet called Millie and I try to regularly raise funds for dogs in rescues in the UK and Ireland.
Thank you for visiting my website, I hope you enjoy looking around.
